assassin+monk?
Hey there, I've been switching my secondary ever since I came in contact with senji's corner, first from a/E to A/N to A/ME and now I'm at A/MO.
Whats the best secondary for a assassin?
I'm kinda confused here lol.

Well, for PvP Warrior is a good secondary for an IAS, and for PvE it can be used for the shout: [Save Yourselves!].
There's also the Deadly Arts Signet of Judgement spiker that uses Monk as a secondary.
In PvE though, you should be using mainly Assassin skills as you don't need much else.

There really is no "best" in Guild Wars, it's all based on preference. Personally I don't use any secondary skills on my Assassin. Just experiment and find some effective skills you like using and work them into a build.

I'd also say A/W for "Save Yourselves" - there's not really any other way for a sin to provide defense for his team.

When I go with my daggers I don't use secondary for like 90% of PvE.
When I want more relaxed gameplay or when I want more precise control over my h/h team I switch to A/R with crit barrage.
And A/D sometimes as well just for the fun of watching huge yellow numbers without putting too much effort into this =))

A/E Conjure for more damage, shock to allow for combos, sliver in farming
A/Mo Self Heals, Hex/Cond Removal, SoJ DD, Hard Rez
A/N Barbs, Plague Touch
A/Me Illusionary Weaponary (rare), hex breaker, fragility, fevered dreams
A/R Apply Poison, Pet, IAS, Crit Barrager
A/W Crit Axe/Sword/Hammer, IAS, Save Yourselves
A/Rt Splinter Weapon, Nightmare Weapon, Sight Beyond Sight, Hard Rez, Self Heal
A/P Crit Spear
A/D Crit Scythe, Mystic Regen, Self Heals
Theres probably other uses for secondary's I cant think up off the top of my head.
What I ran on my sin before I stopped using her, was
[Critical Agility][Critical Defenses][Golden Phoenix Strike][Death Blossom][Moebius Strike][Critical Strike][Save Yourselves]and a PVe Skill or Hard Rez. Was gonna use [Finish Him] if i ever got around to getting it, or [Dodge This]

I don't have that Kurzick skill Save Yourselves. According to the description, it says all other party members gain 100 armor. To me this means, your assassin doesn't gain that benefit. Is that correct?
A/Mo is okay. I started with A/Mo using daggers that do more damage when I'm enchanted. Then I switched to A/N using daggers that do more damage when enemy is hexed. Now I've changed to A/W for Wild Blow and Balanced Stance.
I find that most of the time, you'll use Assassin skills and a rez. So Rit or Monk would be beneficial for you.

listen to the man he knows what hes saying
there is no "best" secondary but those are the best reasons for all the secondaries you can chose

Correct, however it makes your party LOLWUTSPARTA unkillable if you do it right for 3-6 seconds

You are correct. Also, to get the luxon/kurzick skills, you'll need atleast rank 1 of their respective title tracks.

I find the best way to defend your team is by WTFPWNZORING enemies as fast as possible. [skill]"Save Yourselves"[/skill] is a good skill, but without a high rank in your Faction (Kurzick or Luxon) the duration is so small as to be laughable. Works well with Minion Master players or heroes though.
Two good skills for any sin to carry are:
[skill]Critical Agility[/skill] - Nightfall PvE skill, a very overpowered skill, with enough duration basically gives you a permanent +24 armor boost and IAS
[skill]Critical Defenses[/skill] - An awesome skill, 75% chance to block almost permanently barring an unlucky nine seconds without a critical hit.
With those two skills, combine a high damage attack chain, and except for exploding Afflicted and Mesmer/Elementalist enemies, you are fairly durable in combat.
A good attack chain would be:
[skill]Golden Fox Strike[/skill][skill]Wild Strike[/skill][skill]Death Blossom[/skill][skill]Moebius Strike[/skill]
First two skills are unblockable, and Wild Strike should make any annoying ranger or warrior blocking stances go away. The top two skills keep you pretty survivable in melee combat, and the combat sequence is redundant and despite the lack of conditions, is high damage.
So you have two other skills. A good bet as a Monk secondary would be to take [skill]Protective Spirit[/skill] and cast it right before you engage a pack of enemies, which should help with the sometimes insane damage that Factions elementalists can pump out. The last one is up to you, but [skill]Shielding Hands[/skill] or [skill]Shield of Absorption[/skill] are both very good skills for soaking up damage, although SoA's recharge is much nicer.
Given your other closed thread with the immature picture and your horrible skill choices, probably you're not that experienced. One of the first elites you'll cap is [skill]Assassin's Promise[/skill] which combined with monk enchants and a solid attack chain, will kill almost any NM enemy while leaving you with enough energy to just keep blasting through opponents. My current favorite AP build is:
[skill]Assassin's Promise[/skill][skill]Shadow Fang[/skill][skill]Black Mantis Thrust[/skill][skill]Lotus Strike[/skill][skill]Death Blossom[/skill][skill]Black Spider Strike[/skill][skill]Blades of Steel[/skill][skill]Critical Agility[/skill]
Massive damage, IAS, +armor, good energy management, Deep Wound, Crippled, and Poison. Usually killing an enemy is so quick, that you're teleporting all over the place. This build doesn't focus on bosses until their "pack" is dead, at which point the boss will be low on health and you can unleash hell on them, along with your party. Fast and fun.
